Jackson's enclosure

Hey guys, I am new here and I used to have several chameleons about 10 years ago. I had at least 12 at one time and basically got burned out. I swore I would never get another one due to all the crickets mostly. :D

Yesterday I couldn't hold out anymore and bought a nice young Jackson's chameleon. I don't have much experience with them, I had mostly veileds before. I set him up temporairily in an aquarium which I am aware isn't ideal. I am going to build him a cage by this weekend. Do you have any hints on the best way to construct one? I can build it pretty big, the roof is the limit. :) I am planning on a misting system eventually so I need to have a good way to collect the water. Basically I want to keep everything as easy to clean and as simple as possible.

Thanks,
Michael

congratulations on your new jackson's. i love them! i have 11 although most will be going to their new homes in the next couple of months.

this is a great place; you will get lots of help and information.

welcome!:)

Here is a very good idea for cage building and a very nice site to explore and learn about different species. This article was done by one of the members on here. I am going to use these plans this spring to build my set up. I know it is a multi enclosure but you can use the idea for one or however many cages you like. Personally this is the best ive seen but there isnt many designs out there. It is perfect for a misting system. Jacksons are very cool chams congrats and welcome to the forum.

sorry here is the link hahaha http://www.chameleonnews.com/?page=article&id=75

Thanks guys. I am probably going to do something very similar to Lenny's, just not nearly as fancy. I really like the bottom drain idea, I may incorporate something like that. I have some fiberglass finishing reisen that would probably make a good coating. I'm going to Lowes right now to see what I can find.
