Jacksons Chameleon Cage Size

Hi, I currently have a Jacksons Chameleon King. I am only 13 years old and I got him from LLL Reptile in March 2015 and now (November 2015) he is I think about 8-10 inches (plus tail). My dad (who buys the stuff) says he will be fine until (January 2016) and he has a 16 x 16 x 30 cage and I think that is to small and I would like to either free range him, but my mom wouldn't be happy about that "because he will escape" so I think cyber monday is a good time to get him a 24 x 24 x 48 cage because it is $100 without the sale and during the sale its 30% off ($70). Should I get him a cage ASAP or listen to my dad and wait until January 2016?

16x16x30 is usually only used for 2-4 months though even then 18x18x36 is often preferred. The minimal cage size for jacksons is 18x18x36 so going for a 24x24x48 is great ^^, I would say go ahead and do it. He's definitely old enough now.

It's a bit tight but honestly he will be fine until January. However, that's a good deal on a 24" cage, so I'm 50-50.

Can you safely allow him to free range for short periods of time where you can be there to watch him? My Jax just loved to free range, but I only let him do it in one room and only when we are home and not distracted.

Yeah thats what I was going to do is to let him free range when I'm at home and when I'm at school I'll put him in his cage but I think cyber monday is a good day to get the cage because I can get a 24 x 24 x 48 cage for only $70

Okay I'll ask for that I'm already asking for a flapneck cham for christmas to, but I am going to get it with King's new cage so I get free shipping! :D

Not sure it works that way; The chameleon will need fast overnight shipping that cost a great deal more than regular shipping. I know they will throw in a few feeders if you want them, but not real sure they will ship something as large as a cage over night without extra shipping. Better check into it before you buy. :)
