How do you sex a Jackson's (Jacksonii, not Mt. Meru or Xantholophus) chameleon? I want a way which doesn't rely on the horns because there can be a fair bit of variety there! Colouration, build and base of tail?
Base of tail and color generally are indicators for me. how old are the ones you're looking at to identify? They generally won't have adult colors for a while after they're born so you'd have to look at the base of the tail.

could you post a pic of what you mean with the base of the tail, I have been at expos where the animlas don´t show colors and it is quite har do identify them as male or female
