It's finally done.

I finally finished my outdoor enclosure. It's a repurposed bird cage. I got 2 of them at a garage sale for $50 each a few months ago. It's approx 3x4x5 ft. I disinfected it then wrapped it in screen. It has branches from the yard, several live plants and lots of fake vines to give additional coverage. I made a dripper out of a new, never been used 5 gallon bucket that sits on top. Next year I'm going to plant a hibiscus inside of it. It has great afternoon sun. I think it looks pretty good, what about everyone else. I'm always open to constructive criticism and suggestions on improvements.

That's such a great idea, I love it. I have an old bird cage in storage that would actually make a great outdoor enclosure, now that I've seen your idea. there's a lot of foliage, but then again lots of places for your babe to hide.

My BFF who is afraid of my chams actually found the cages for me and came up with the idea. I do put a lot of foliage in but I figured since they come from the rain forest the most the better. It was a little tedious wrapping and gluing each panel in screen but completely worth it in the end. I know he's going to be happy being outside.
Love it...your chammy is going to be one happy camper. He is gorgeous by the way.
Thank you. His name is Pan and he's 8 months old. Red is my favorite color and he was fired up in that picture. I had just put him in his new outside home.

I would put it up higher. Maybe build a little stand for it. I would make it so the some part of the cage is up at eye level. Chams like to be up high and don't want to sit on the ground. It looks nice though.

When I did mine I sewed the screen inside the bird cage. You way looks way easier. Lol
I started out by sewing it and quickly realized that it was a pain doing it that way. I ended up gluing it using an adhesive caulk. I wrapped the outside of the cage so that way I could use the bars as anchors for the vines. I have one more to complete and I still need another birdcage
