Chameleon Info:
* Your Chameleon - Female Veiled Chameleon about 6 months old
* Handling - Hand feeding;allowing her to walk on my hands to eat.
* Feeding - Mainly crickets. Superworms as snacks. Horned worms, silk worms, black soldier fly larvae, when I have them. She loves fruits also but sparingly. She's fed every other day. Crickets are gutloaded with fresh veggies.
* Supplements - Zoo med Repti-Calcium without d3 on weekday feedings. Nat Geo calcium powder w/ d3. Rep-cal Herpivite multivitamins (d3/multivitamins fed alternating weekends)
* Watering -Monsoon Mister. 2 nozzles one high one middle. Every 4 hours for about a minute.
* Fecal Description - normal brown with white urate
* History - She was a Petsmart purchase but I got lucky and she was just a bit underweight. Last vet visit 2 weeks ago showed she had coccidia and we treated that for a week with 4cc's of Ponazuril once a day for 7 days
Cage Info:
* Cage - 18x18x36 Repribreeze
* Lighting - Nat Geo UVB bulb (about to be replaced) and the daylight blue 60w
* Temperature - basking is about 80-85. Cooler as it gets lower. Night temps are low 70's.
* Humidity - vaires from 40-70% . Kept up with mister settings.
* Plants - mostly fake but she does have an Umbrella plant thats finally starting to fill out
* Placement - corner of my room away from the vent. ceiling fan in the middle of the room on low.
* Location - south florida
Current Problem - For a month now she has had this bump on her eye. Brought her to my exotic vet who told me it just looked like a cricket bite.
About 2 weeks later, overnight, I turn on her lights and shes having trouble opening that eye. It looks swollen and she's starting to itch it on the vines. I have a Vet appointment scheduled for next thursday (earliest available). My question is, what should I do in the mean time so she doesnt hurt her eye more? I'm flushing it in the morning with warm water so she can open it better. Is there anything in particular I can use?
Also, what questions should I be asking at the vet appointment?
