Is there a rule of thumb for misting duration?

My little guy(9 month old panther morph cross) was looking slightly dehydrated this morning, nothing serious, but I upped his misting on my mistking to 5 min at 7am, 10am, 1pm and then 3min at 5pm to let his cage dry before bed time. He was on a 2min for the first misting and 1 min for the rest. I have a rain nozzle attachment at the top of my cage and an elbow nozzle at the corner that sprays out diagonally across the cage to get what the rain nozzle doesn't get. I also have a big dripper going all day at a drip a second pace, and all live plants to help with humidity. I also have a misting humidifier next to his cage that is on 30 min, off 1 hour all day and off at night.

So I was wondering what all of you do? Is there a rule of thumb for keeing up humidity, or does it vary? How much is too much?

I think the only rule of thumb is to use AT LEAST enough water to keep the urates white. How much more than that you want to use is up to you, your situation, your animals, etc.

I like your schedule, personally. My panthers love water and will run to the nozzle at most misting times and sit on a branch with their face pointed straight at the water, just soaking it all in. I do 10 minutes at 8am, 3 minutes at 1pm, and 5 minutes at 6pm right now. I do redo the schedule every few months but that's essentially what I do, a long morning mist followed by a short mid-day one and a slightly longer one towards the end.

How do you suppose he's hydrated? Some people put there chams in a tree in the shower point there shower head at the wall and let it bounce off into the tree to give your cham a nice warm shower for.maybe 10 15 mins and they'll most likely drink or enjoy the shower:)
