So my female started showing receptive colors on Saturday, so I showed her to my male and they were both receptive. Prob is I dont think the male know what to do. He goes up to her but half mounts her then nothing happens, they just chill like that for hours. she has been wanting it each day cause she still turns pink and walks toward him. Going on day four of putting them together for the day and still nothing. Any ideas?

how old is he? he might be to young.

He is a 1.5 years old, she is about the same. When he sees her he instanely fires up and starts head bobbing like crazy. He approaches her, mounts her but then nothing. So yea

Is it possible that there was successful mating you didnt see?

if not, if you were watching every minute, maybe your being there is disturbing his completion. Watch from a greater distance, or less obviously (half hidden behind something), or with a webcam. etc

If certain he's not getting the job done, Try again in a few months (next time she is receptive). If the performance remains the same, he's likely not going to be a breeder. Not all males are up to the task.
