I was wondering if it is necessary to have a live plant inside my chameleons cage because my nursery is out of the plant I use which is hibiscus. So is it ok if I just have artificial things inside his cage. Thanks.

It really helps to maintain humidity, if you're having issues with it, and I'm not saying that you are... What about a nice, big fat pothos?? Those are usually readily available and they're practically indestructible! Built in plant with highways and walkways, assuming you find one with long vines...
They give fresh oxygen, help with RH levels, and look much, much nicer.
As Max said, pothos is a great plant to use. Its unkillable (just about), cheap, grows super fast, and has lots of vines that you can place anywhere you like. I use pothos in all my cages. I also use hibiscus, which as long as you have a 6500k bulb, and keep it amply watered, should do well in a cage. I really like how the leaves of both of these plants hold alot of water for drinking, especially hibiscus.
I also think its very important, not only is it more natural but helps with the humidity and when misting the water seems to hang around longer where on plastic plants it runs strait of
Yeah I guess lol.. They are annoying!? I've had 3 live plants already 2 umbrella plants, I gave up on those and switched to dracaena.. Hopefully I don't over "humidify" this one lol
