Is it bad to feed my baby veiled chameleons only mealworms? i feed them crickets when i can get to the store but i like to use mealworms because they last long and for me crickets die in a couple of days
Feeding only mealworms is bad period, they can cause impaction and are more likely to do so in younger chameleons. Crickets are MUCH better to use on a regular basis. You need variety in your diet though like silkworms, hornworms, dubia roaches, and butterworms to name a few.
try breeding your own roaches. Dubia roaches are awesome! They don't climb glass, don't smell, don't make noise, and breed very well. With an undertank heater and some veggies and fruits along with some egg cartons your golden.
