Is an orange plant safe?

I'm wondering if putting a mandarin orange plant in with our Chameleon, Pascal is safe? I saw in several posts that oranges themselves are ok, but wondering about the plant. He loves the corn plant in his cage and he eats the fiscus I let out to climb on.
