I talked to the breeder and they said it was to big for them to find food but im tryin to cut the cost of having to upgrade a small cage to a bigger one. just curious if anyones tested with this or is it just better to get a small cage and upgrade? thanks

I started my baby boy in an 18x18x24 which really isn't TOO much smaller then a 30x16x24. For feeding you could just try cup feeding! I did that and it works great. I don't get any loose crickets and my boy always knows where his food will be waiting when he's done basking in the morning.

You could also put a divider in a larger cage until he gets bigger. My 3 month old is in an 18x18x36 and he has no issues at all finding his food :). He will be going in to a 24x24x48 in a few months

This is what I did. I had a 36"x18"x48" that I cut down to a 24"x18"x48" then divided it in half. So now it's 24"x18"x a little over 24" high. So no when he gets bigger I'll just take out the divider on the bottom.
