Welcome! I'm new as of a few days too! Just something to add... if you're getting the crix dusted at PetSmart they will lick off the powder if you don't feed them off within about a day.

Actually I don't know but I do know they lick off the powder.

The supplement they use contains D3 so I'm only doing that once a week...and couldn't find a supplement that does not contain it. Any suggestions out there?

Quick update:

Misted him good this morning, saw him drink. Urate looked good (nice and white in clear fluid). Saw him hunt and he ate while my hand was in the habitat!

Installed the digi thermo/hygro and basking temp is steady at 82 so I shifted the
Light a bit to lower that a little (in addition to turning the fan up).

The really good news is that last night I ordered him an aluminum screen enclosure (18-18-36) as the excess water cleanup in the glass habitat was getting a bit much. Despite having just purchased it is no excuse for not getting him exactly what he needs! Will post updated pictures when it's redone.

a 2x2x4 is the best for him.

Understood. Can I ask your opinion on how old you think he is? I'll try to attach another picture...

I do dust his crix with d3 once a week too. But I'm trying to do better. Ideally, you should dust with plain calcium every feeding, d3 twice a month, and a multivitamin twice a month.

That's very good! OCCASIONALLY I feed him waxworms from my hand. The cage as camimom said he will outgrow. Mine is a 2 1/2 by 2 by 3 1/2. I would go bigger but my ceiling's not tall enough My basking stays about 90. Mid to late 80's are good, so are low 90's.

TYVM for the feedback Swayne. Going to find some just calcium supplement and vitamins and follow that schedule you said. I'm planning on getting him some alternative food at the expo on 7/7.

Is a basking of mid 80s too high for a jackson? I think it should be 78-83...maybe cami can weigh in again.

Need help ... ??

I could not figure out how to post my own question. Can someone explain how to help me in a user friendly way (I'm not very techy) .... I have been signed on for a couple of months but never needed much ... Kind of used it for research for my Jackson. ... Only thing I have yet to figure out is where can I purchase other bugs ... I feel he is getting bored w crickets I would be too if I ate the same thing for over 6 months... Any suggestions? Maybe a website? ... Since I am new and unsure how to work the forum ...
