Interesting Quad behavior...

I have a lone female quadricornis gracilior (thanks to Chuck), and have observed some pretty cool activities lately. One thing I've noticed her doing, is she will "shake", or "wobble" with her body and legs on certain occasions. I know it sounds bad, and at first I thought it was an injury/malnourishment although she eats and drinks fine. It is more of a methodical, side to side movement with a downward shove occasionally, with her eyes focused on a leaf or branch. Anyway, after seeing it a few times, uninterrupted, it seems she will do it to shake visible water into a droplet, so she can then shoot it with her tongue. It may sound a bit bizarre, but once I realized what she was doing (I didn't pull the conclusion out of the air), I was quite amazed. I've kept a number of chameleon species in the past and never saw something like this. And for those of you still skeptical about her health, she's very well hydrated (3 x 15 minute mistings a day), fat, and will even eat out of my hand (pretty cool for such a shy cham), though that has nothing to do with her health. Anyone else ever notice behavior like this?

Funny you brought this up . I noticed my female panther doing the same thing over the past couple of days. I have only had her for about 4 days. She does the arch her back and shake back and forth thing. Climbing around a leaf. I thought she was starting to shed and rubbing the skin off. It also crossed my ming that she was hurt as well. She would even hang toward the leaf with he mouth open like she is going to shoot. I have not witnessed her shoot at the leaf (probably because I am right in her face) but I have seen her drink after she directed the water.

Ive seen my females move as if they are trying to mimic the leaves....not sure if we're talking about the behavior ...my female panther doing this usually when im around cleaning their cages.
