Hey guys so my panther basking spot is to cold about 70-80 and i was wondering if i could use my infra red bulb its hotter and will only be on during the day is there any issue with this?

thanks

i'm not sure how they react to infra-red but why would you want to do this? this is out of the visible spectrum so their might be some effects; i dont know tho

just get a higher wattage incadescent bulb and problem solved? :)

EDIT: "70-80" is a HUGE spread...you really should have a good thermometer and know the actual temperature.

even more reason to get a good thermometer...

i dunno, you are talking about a $5 savings....I agree on saving but there are times you can cut corners and times you shouldn't; imho this is a time when its not worth the unknown risks
