In Memory of Tragan

Tragan was my first Chameleon, a Panther I purchased in 2005. We had many wonderful years together before he passed away in my arms. Tragan helped me get through a chronic pain disease and 3 surgeries... I still cry when I think about him, and miss him very much!!

Below is my favorite photo I took of him :)

So sorry for your loss. I'm glad that he was able to help you through your ordeal. RIP Tragan!

He was beautiful, I'm so sorry for your loss! Rest in peace, pretty boy. 7 years is a good life for one of these guys.

What a beautiful picture to remember him with!

I also have chronic pain and know how much of a difference animals can make. Hopefully at some point you will be ready to give another Cham a wonderful home :)

Sorry for your loss

I had a cham I had for years and loved so much, it hurt to watch him decline.

i am sorry you lost Tragan, but happy for all the wonderful memories you will have forever. RIP Tragan.

Thank you all for your kind words! So many people say 'it was just a lizard...'

It's nice to know there are others out there that love their Chameleons as much as I do :)

He used to sit on my lower abdomen, and just stay there - it was like he knew where my pain was. I have pictures somewhere, of me in bed working on my computer after a surgery, and he was perched atop my laptop screen.

Just last week I gave a new Chamy a home - Graceful this time. Which is what prompted me to find this forum - I wish I had sooner.

Where in Florida are you located, if you don't mind me asking? There are quite a few of us here in Florida and we do meet-ups at reptile shows or even BBQ days at members' houses. Plus we're here for each other if we need bugs or supplies that will get shipped quickly from one person to the other, and can offer local help.

I am very sorry to hear this.. Im sure you have many fond memories of him and all you guys went through together. Have solice in knowing you were there for him through his life and at the end. You got experience his whole life cycle and had the gift of saying goodbye and knowing you were there for him.
He sure is a beauty and I know he is in a great place now where all his fav bug are always available.
Take care R.I.P Tragan
and what an awsome pic!!!

I am so very sorry to hear about your boy. He was absolutely gorgeous. These little animals have a special way of getting right into our hearts.

BTW I'm about an hour north of West Palm.

Sorry for your loss. 7 yrs is a long time to have one of these guys so I am sure you gave him wonderful care. I live in Lake Worth! We are very close to one another.

Tonight, four years ago, Tragan passed away in my hands. He took his last breath as we ran through an emergency vets door.

I miss him so much. Geez.... I'm even crying now! This is how I remember him, sleeping peacefully all curled up. How I loved I watch him sleep.

Congrats to Tragan and you for making photo of the month! He sure will be remembered this month :) R.I.P.

I'm sorry for your loss and it makes me happy to see you were so grateful of the little guy, remember... no one lives forever. Cherish the memories and don't forget them. He is in a better place thinking about you who obviously kept him healthy for as long as he could possibly live.
