Importing Chams???

Just wondering...
let's say I were to go on a road trip to U.S.A. and possibly want to return home with a new CB cham., does anyone know if this would even be allowed at the border?
Of course, I need to make sure it can survive such a trip, so any ideas on how this would even be possible are greatly appreciated.
I would be extremely wary to import any other way, so I would rather be there every step of the way home.

you mean across the country?
Isn't it illegal to carry living creature across countries without permit?

You need CITES permits to transport any chameleon across international borders of CITES member nations legally.

I live in Toronto, but if I were to move to the States I would be extremely sad to have to sell my cham.'s. I just want to know if it is possible to take them with me?
Thanks for the responses

I would just take them across the border anyways... but thats just me.

If they catch you it will be a very sad day for you. I would try and contact the proper authorities and see what is involved when you move.

Ya that's what i thought. Thanks. I don't want to be doing it if it's illegal! GEEEEZZZ but i don't want to part with my lovely cham's!!!!
