Important question!!

Hi guys! Happy new year!
I'm putting together the new set up.. The question is: can I leave the dome lamp, basking spot, right on the top of the mesh? I got a screen alluminium cage from LLLREPTILE. Will it burn the mesh or it will be fine? Thanks

The mesh will be fine, but you want the basking light to be a couple of inches from the basking spot to prevent burning.

8-10 inches from basking spot is appropriate, unless the spot is too hot you can raise the lamp or lower the wattage of the bulb.

Thanks guys.. My concern was the mesh
Fender usually stays on a stick under the basking spot about 10cm away from it.. I'll try to ding the way to clip the dome somewhere!

the mesh will be fine, but I would put at least a 1" gap incase your cham climbs onto the screen and burns his hands

Hot

I left a small gap above the screen. Just hang it from a chain. My Panther crawls across the ceiling directly under the lamp once in a while. Just keep his basking options close to the top of the cage. Ten/eight" he will it where he likes it.

Those cages are designed to withstand the temperatures of a fixture with a lightbulb resting directly on the screen. Most fixtures, when the lightbulb is an appropriate size, end up with the bulb at least 1 - 2" away from actually coming out of the end of the fixture, which something to keep in mind when adjusting how far away you have the bulb from the top of the cage.
