impacted?

I think Leo could be impacted, I am showering him now and am going to soak him but I have heard I can give him mineral oil right? I have small measures syringes and mineral oil so can anyone tell me how much I can give? The last day he has been a gross brown and green color and his eyes have been sunken. He was pretty thirsty yesterday so I ave him a lot of water, but this morning he was still the same way. right now in the shower he is normal colored but his eyes are still sunken. he is active thought.

He isn't eating, he looks a bit bloated, I haven't seen him poo, and i gave him some supers last week. But he doesn't look good =( He is getting worse. I put him outside in the natural sun, because i don't know if the UVB light I have might be too old and maybe it's something else like mbd or gout because he keeps falling now and lays on the bottom of the cage :( The vet isn't open and the emergency center is way too expensive for me to afford...

i dont think its your bulb but u do have to change your blubs every 6 months cause they can lose their wattage after a while.

im not a expert i just dont think its your light.

but you don't know until u try

well I bought a new one because I had to anyway, plus some phoenix worms to see if he will eat. I am going to shower him more and try some mineral oil. He is still alive at least when I got back from the store and flared up at me when I walked over which is good. He is still outside because it is nice and sunny, but I put an extra heat lamp out with him because when the sun goes away it gets cooler. I'm going to bring him back in and put 2 heat lamps on his cage instead of 1 with the new uvb. But does anyone know how much mineral oil is safe?

well I gave him .1 ml of mineral oil for starters, if I can give him more let me know so I can. He is at least on a branch now basking and alert.

just make sure you dont make it to hot in his area for him make sure he has a area that he can go if he does get to hot.

Tons of water.....like a 30 minute shower. Try to get him to eat a few slivers of grape. That works great for my guys. That and the extra hydration.

I'll try, but I don't have any grapes. I will have to go to the store. I try showering him but all he does is try to climb out. I soaked him too but again all he does is try to climb out.

I was told no mineral oil by Kevinopp. If they get any in their lungs, it will not break down.

I use pear baby food and it has worked every time for my veiled. I feed him a dollop about the size of a med cricket body only and so far, two days was all it took.

Good luck and I hope everything comes out okay!

Thanks, me too :( I will be bringing him to the vet tomorrow as long as he makes it the night. He looks "okay" right now, awake and in the shower on a better plant, one he can hang onto easier. His grip is still pretty tight, but when he's in his cage he goes to the bottom. He is green right now which is good, not brown. I have the shower curtain up a little blocking his view of me so he can relax and hopefully drink, but I can still keep an eye on him to make sure he doesn't fall.

looks like he's trying to go, i hope he doesn't get a prolapse :(

edit: Okay there were watery urates and a small amount of brown stuff, but no large ones. I felt his belly and I can't feel anything, but who knows. I ran out of hot water so I have to wait like a half hour to give him another shower. Maybe it could be something else? I have phoenix worms, should I try force feeding him any since he won't eat? Any suggestions? He's bright and alert right now and his eyes aren't as sunken, but he keeps flip flopping from looking okay to looking terrible so I just don't know... But what really concerns me is the not eating, because he is always a ravenous eater and will go after anything that moves including my hands or a watering can.

If he's not eating well, then he's not going to have a big poop. Has he had a fecal lately?

No, but I can't get him to poop anything substantial so even if I can get him into the vet tomorrow we won't be able to check. He refuses to eat any phoenix worms, but I don't know if I should force it if he is impacted. I will pick up some grapes to see if that does anything. He seemed happier in the shower, though his eyes were still a bit sunken, and now that he's back in his cage he flip flops from brown to normal, still sunken eyes. He does look bloated, and he keeps going to the bottom of the cage. If he was a she I would say he was gravid  not sure what to do at this point. I am goign to leave and see how he looks when I come back.

Have you tried Silks and horns? They help them to go. I doubt that phoenix worms would make him go. You could get some Fluker's Repta Boost and give him that. That's what I use when I have one not eating.

Phoenix works can actually be pooped out the same way they wasn't in if they aren't chewed up first, so I would avoid them. If you feel you must give them to him, be sure to poke a hole in them first.

hmm... never knew that. I have fed them before to both of them, they are good chewers I guess... I don't have anywhere near me that sells silks or horns unfortunately  But when I just got home he looked good, nice and bright and eyes were mostly normal, but since he saw me he's brown and sunken again?? could it be me?? Maybe he doesn't like me? There is a spot of brown water on the floor, like extremely watery diarhea... Maybe it's not that he is impacted but he has had diarhea and is severely dehydrated? I don't know I wish I could get a fecal good enough to bring to the vet.

Bringing Leopold to the vet today, hopefully he can find out what is wrong with him. I want to see how much an xray would cost so maybe we can see if he has MBD or broken bones or something. He has been falling quite a lot and has a couple small bruises from it. :( I hope we can fix whatever is wrong.
