I'm worried

I posted yesterday about my female veiled possibly going to lay eggs soon. She does have a laying bin in her cage now but has ignored it..

Last week I bought a baby male veiled chameleon since we had a whole set up since we moved our female into a bigger cage. It just crossed my mind that even though they are in different cages their cages are pretty close together and since we have had him she has been very antsy, wanting to come out of her cage, ALOT, and isn't eating as much.

Could his cage being close where she can see him trigger her like this? Should I move him? He is an itty bitty baby but I assume she could know he is male.

Any help would be much appreciated. We don't know exactly how old she is but I would say close to a year and we have had her since she was tiny.

The other thing that is so strange and baffling is over the last week, she has been coming out to me a lot more. I mean like every time I walk past the cage she is coming to me. A few minutes ago she got in my hands, laid down and went to sleep with me cupping her for my warmth.

I am just worried. I am very attached to her.

My veiled Information

Chameleon Info:
• Your Chameleon – Veiled Cham, female, approx. 1 year, Been with my since tiny baby.
• Handling – Daily, but lately she wants to come out a lot.
• Feeding – Dusted crickets, 2 meal worms a day.
• Supplements – Rep cal
• Watering – Mist 2-3 times per day. She has a waterfall
• Fecal Description – Whitish, normal looking poop. In my care, she has not been tested for mites.
• History – No unusual history.

Cage Info:
• Cage Type – Screened cage. 34x17x17
• Lighting – Zoomed, day light. Photo of cage attached
• Temperature – Thermometer is broken
• Humidity – Thermometer is broken.
• Plants – Real Ficus, hybicus and fake.
• Placement – Located in my home office. She is my work buddy. Cage sits on a table. Ceiling fan stays on low when I am in here.
• Location – Houston tx.

She looks pretty round like she might have eggs. The sight of a male can trigger eggs but if he's only a baby probably not. I would move him. At his age she might stress him.

Yes, if they can see each other it can cause stress. I keep cages close together but I use black painter's plastic so the chams can't see each other. It is cheap and can be found at any hardware store. You can either tape it on or use adhesive clips.

Otherwise you would need to move the cages to locations where there is no way they can see each other.

I would remove the waterfall and substrate since they can cause bacteria, especially if the substrate has no cleaning insects.

What do you use for UVB? It is important to know the basking and ambient temperature, so I would replace the thermometer.

What rep-cal do you use? You should use plain calcium on every feeding and calcium+d3 twice a month, multivitamin twice a month.

OK, I will move him into another room.

For the UVB it is Zoomed. I replaced the thermometer last night after I posted. Basking area is 87 and 60% humidity.

We use Rep-cal Herptivite multivitamin and Rep-Cal Calcium with Vit D. I called my husband as he is the duster/cricket man. I am afraid he is doing the vitamins wrong. Can you tell me exactly what is needed and when.

So, if I remove the waterfall what is the best way for her to get water. She loves her waterfall.

And the substrate, you said remove it as well. Then what is the best to put at the bottom of the cage?
