I must be such a soft touch

Had the bearded dragon since weds and he already knows how to get a round me, he's been picky with his food so feeling sorry for him i give him a small locust. He loved it that much he's decided he doesn't want to eat crickets any more, so im left with four boxes full.

Should i just put crickets in and wait until he decides to eat them again or give in all together and let him have the locusts and hope he eats crickets again at some point? Only he's only a baby, 4months old. I don't want him doing without food. How long can a baby bearded dragon go without food?

The same happened with my chameleon Mia, i give her locusts not long after i got her and she wouldn't eat crickets, now only every so often she will eat crickets. I tried just feeding her crickets but she went close to a week without eating until i caved in and give her the locusts. Man im far to soft!

Locusts must be like eating steak to reptiles, lol.

You must be my English counterpart!! I am a pushover for a couple of my creatures, husband included. I have a male panther who will eat supers or supers. I went 10 days without feeding him a caved in. He is an adult and a big boy so I knew he would be ok.

With a dragon that small it should only take a day or two, they eat & poop like crazy at that age. Beardies usually cave in pretty easy. Don't offer anything until the second day & see what happens. How does he like his veggies, now is when you need to make sure he starts eating those as well. Good Luck.

He loves his fruit and veg, i give him a bowl full every day. By god they sure do poop a lot, i couldn't believe how much poop comes from something so small. I put him on my floor so he could run about last night and he decided to poop there, lovely! I will try not to cave in, but its that cute little face of his that makes me soo weak. Haha
