I Have The Flexarium But I Need To Know

in my experience with flexariums (thats all i use) if the actual bulb is NOT touching the mesh and there is a space between the bulb and the mesh there should not be any problems, i have been doing it for over a year and no problems, to be safe tho i just use normal household bulbs as heat lamps, there better for the cham and cheaper for you, they also dont get as hot, just try a few different bulbs (40,60,100w) to find the temp you want the basking spot to be at, and there you go!!!

They do and eventually will start to damage the screen. First it will start to fade the color and then will eventually cause a hole. What we did to stop this was place a screen lid made for a glass tank on top. Rest it on the pvc frame so it dosen't sink in (hopefully you can picture this). Put the light on top of that. Keeps it raised just enough so that it will not burn but will still give off plenty of heat.

Is there any way to keep it off the top of the cage in the area you have the enclosure? Like a curtain rod or any sort of ledge you could clamp it to? I do not own a flexarium, but I would err on the side of caution. You should probably find a way, even if it means that you need to change the location of the cage, where you can clamp the lamp to something, OR get an extra tall lamp stand, or improvise with something like it.
