I have a question..............

I have been on this forum for some time now and I'm wondering if there is any NEW info out there. I've read the same questions and answers for months. I think I have just about every bit if information I can possibly gleen. Am I missing something???? I don't mean to be rude..... just wonderring....

Well, no one can answer that because we dont know what you know. You couldn't possibly write down all you know (or you shouldn't be able to if you know as much as you think you know about chameleons)

There's always more to learn. Search and ask questions.

The stuff that is repeated over and over is the best information we can give (to our knowledge), and once there is something better, it is replaced with that, and will be eventually made "old" information, which will be replaced.. so on so fourth!

I've been over the general care info for my species..I have everything in the correct parameters....he seems to be fine....thanks to all the info I've received from you all....I guess I'm just looking for something MORE. Not to put anyone down...that is not my aim. Maybe the "forum" life is not for me. I dunno....just wondering if there is something I'm missing?????.........

Go buy books and read them then. I bet you'll learn something you didn't know. Shoot, I learned that adult male panthers can be kept in cages as small as 12x12x18 today.

Did you know that before? I certainly didn't, but I would have if I had read the book, (the name of which escapes me now...)

Ask Chris about the best (and newest) books and periodicals.:D

I wish there more scientific papers relating to current/recent/ongoing studies, available to keepers. Some source of direct access to this kind of information. Personally Id love more information of this nature on veileds.
How can find out who, where and when such feild studies are being conducted.
That would be a fantastic resource. :)

How much info can there be??? If you have everything "just so" what more can there be??? I don't plan to breed...I just want an interesting pet to take care of.....I guess I'm probably already there....there's no outlet for babies here...so cannot justify breeding for breeding's sake. I'm just "stuck".

Perhaps its time to start keeping snakes! :D
I do understand, I have one veiled, and 14 months on, its smooth sailing, Ive got it 'down pat', so whats new?
Fortunately for me, I enjoy this forum anyway. I like to pass on what I can, and I have a much broader interest in
chameleons than the one species avail to me.
The basics of keeping veilds dosent change much, what is established, simply works, but the creativeness of keepers
in the way they do things, changes alot, folk have new ideas on setups etc, so there is always something
of interest to keep me clicking. :)

If you dont have your bedroom walls lined with enclosures, you have lots of space! :D

Sorry...the line is drawn where they can kill me...I already have snakes, a turtle, a cham, many fishes, salt and fresh, 2 dogs, been through cats, rodents, birds, amphibians, etc...I guess I'm just a tough egg to crack at this point.......don't get me wrong...I love them all.....

Guinea pigs are pretty fun. :) With them you spend a lot of time cuddling during free roam time so you dont have as much time to get bored. Plus you can spend time making cool stuff for them.

Or you can get a really challenging lizard/more challenging chameleon.

Had guinea pigs....seem to be just lettuce eatin' machines....I dunno...looking for something that's not out there I guess...like the song..."Lookin' for love in all the wrong places..."

I think long haired ones bring out your creativity. You can pretend to he a hairdresser!

Jo: Eh, I think it could have done better. If a wild one in Africa can pull off a zebra leg, it can at least pull of the rest of the arm!
