I hate UPS so much...

So my 1100 package of 1.3 tamataves is being postponed a day for whatever reason... So instead of them arriving right now, they are coming tomorrow by 10:30 supposedly.

I am so livid, stressed, upset. Normally I have school and wouldn't have been able to pick them up anyways but luckily I have it off for our school.

Two of the females are also 3 weeks gravid and this isn't the kind of stress they need right now.

I want to punch UPS as a hole in the face...

UPS lost one of my chams a month ago, so I can sympathize with you... he came a day late and ended up being okay. Keep us posted!

That's the crappy thing about shipping on a week with a holiday, or approaching a big holiday, it just seems to slow down all mail carriers. I hope they arrive well for you!

I hate monopolies but fedex has been the only way to go for the last year at least. Your shipper is trying to save a few bucks.

It probably depends on where you live.... I've read tons of horrible things about both FedEx as well as UPS.

Oh wow they probably don't overnight on holidays huh? Veterens day. Dang. I will keep you all posted. They should be okay as they are healthy. Sorry about being angry earlier also I needee to vent, plus gravid girls are very fragile.

At one point or another these shipping companies will dissapoint someone. I have use the USPS Express Mail and had no problems to report.

Shipyourreptiles is fedex and they offer insurance for these scenarios. You pay $2.50 per $100 value of the shipment. I had one late package and they paid up no questions asked.

I thought the shipper would use reptiles express or shipyourreptile :/

All the tamatavea appear healthy and happy. They got a nice long, warm misting and will be offered food in a few hours after they settle in. I can't wait to get some pictures of them.

Yep, this is exactly why we created the SYR Insurance program. As long as you get the minimum insurance amount, you are covered on your shipping fee if that package is 1 minute or more late.

If your animals are also DOA, you are covered up to the insured value (up to $5000 on the site, and to $20k+ through me directly).

Package delays don't happen that often, but when they do, it is nice to have the coverage.

Yeah next time I receive such an expensive package I will request shipyourreptile be used with insurance. It's just not worth the risk.
