Evening All,

I had been concerned that my panther girl might be gravid as she has certainly gotten big and round. That being said, the time has long passed since she should have laid if she was. I was considering taking her to the vet to confirm that she was not carrying eggs, but again, no health concerns really.

So, today I took one of my males and put him within a couple of feet to make sure they could see each other and see how she would react.

She did gape a bit, but color change was minimal.

This is her with Male in eye contact.

This is her a minute after male put away.

I did attempt to palpitate her belly a bit, as much as she would let me (she is not friendly) and I did not feel any egg type shapes.

So, I am going to move forward with no to being gravid, just a healthy, chunky, (and mean) female.

She does have a laying bin just in case, but is not interested.

Anyhow, any other opinions are appreciated.

Anyone else mind offering their opinion. Being color blind certainly doesn't help the observation process.

Thanks!

I wouldnt say she was gravid.

How much do you feed her?

what is her basking temp?

As long as she has access to a good lay bin, at least 12 inches deep, she should lay if and when she needs to.

Thanks for the response. She eats about 4 crickets (or equivalent other feeder) every other day, couple times on the weekends. Basking temp is 89-90.

I agree with ya, just going to move forward as is....
