I am So excited! Chicks!

I am ecstatic! I finally got my baby chicks :D First time owning chickens, I have 3 japanese silkie bantams! They are so cute, little fuzz balls! I have , hopefully, all females. A white, a blue splash, and a buff splash.

Hey!
We got some chicks about a year ago for eggs.

We ended up with 2 rhode island reds and 3 easter eggers (have beards and give blue/green eggs, so we get 3 green and 2 brown eggs every day or two).

Way more fun than I thought they would be. Much easier than lizards. I only have to fill the feeder every couple of weeks and I made a waterer out of a gallon jug and a chicken nipple (LOL) and they nurse off that for 3 or 4 days between fillings. They have a 6'x12' cage that gets moved every day so they always get fresh weeds/grass/bugs and we never have to clean anything except for their hanging house that I built them. The chicken house, the water and the food all hang, so everything is easy to move- takes about 10 seconds, then another minute or two to collect eggs and another couple minutes to pet and admire the chickens.

Waaaay easier than lizards!
:)

Haha yeah, mine will be going in my garden fenced off. they are really small so even full grown a hawk could get them so i have to put netting over the top. They are so cute though and sweet, still a bit skittish of handling but I just got them a couple days ago so they will settle.

hatching chicks is so cool. i hatched this one rooster he was a cross of like 3 different bantams nobody could tell what the hell he was, but anyway he was just like my pet parrots and would fallow us and sit on my lap or shoulder while i watched tv, and he would nap with us.

anyway nice silkies:) i never had one of those, i want a silkie turken, those look cool
