So, I gotta laugh to myself a bit. I was all worked up for this huge hurricane to be striking us down with deadly force....

...and we have yet to see a rain drop.

Not saying it isn't going to happen, but my family in CT are complaining about the rain, my sister, a nurse at NY presby, has already dealt with 2 patients who were injured when a branch fell on their car....and I just finished cooking some nice coconut caramel cookies.

Oh, and I have a pitcher of Hurricanes ready to go. And my bikini is also ready in case of flooding and I gotta swim for it...or something. lol.

The center of the storm seems to be heading for the hudson valley now. My watch has said 40-50 sustained winds with 60-70 gusts and 5-10 inches of rain. It is not going to be very good here in the overnight hours

I hurricane proofed everything outside except I couldnt get my raspberry bush in, so i hope it doesn't get overflooded. My hibiscus, potatoes, basil, cilantro, ginger and everything else are fine.

I live right near lock 7 on the erie canal (literally, within 20 feet of the shoreline), so I am hoping the state can open and close the locks as needed to help keep water levels low.

But I got my bikini and my alcohol...so I am ready! lol
