Hunger strike

So neelix is going to be on hunger strike for as long as it takes to get him eating crickets, locusts & supers again...

He is refusing everything but silkworms & I fed him the last 2 today... I will be stronger than him lol (been saying that for a few weeks but now there's no more silkworms so I can't break either)

I've ordered roaches & woodlice & I have some snails. I find that if the food is too small, he's more likely to refuse- ie. he's more likely to go for an adult locust than an large/extra large. I think that may be why he refuses roaches too, I need to get some big ones.

I've started to keep a food diary for him, so I can monitor exactly what's going in. Not a lot is coming out at the moment- he usually poops every other day but he hasn't pooped for a few days now.

Come on Neelix, give in to the juicy fat crickets!
It's so frustrating when an animal won't eat :( hopefully he won't hold out too long.

I feel your pain...

Trust me lol.

Good luck with the hunger strike! It's always good to get a fecal exam just incase he caught something.

Be strong, he is just trying to bully you. Just remember they are brat children and we have to do what is best for them. Ever know a kid that wanted to get a shot? Well tell your kid, he is getting a shot just pick which one - you have several nice choices.:D:D

Just to check

Does he seem alert? Are you sure he is still in great health?

What I typically do with my chams if they are hunger striking is I will increase the temps and mistings for a few days and that will typically boost their metabolism so they will be hungry for anything that moves.

It seems to heat them up, so they drink more, take a good poop, then come out hungry is my theory.

Good luck and if the hunger strike last to long you may want to get him checked out in my opinion. Always better safe than sorry

I'm keeping a close eye on him. He's bright-eyed and is a good weight at the moment, he's just incredibly grumpy & knows what he wants to eat lol Hope he won't hold out too long

I've up the temp a few degrees, he does prefer in the low-mid 90s & it had fallen to 89. Maybe that'll perk him up
