I opened my lid once every so often (weeks) not just to photograph the eggs as they were developing, and to check for any moldy eggs, but to get some fresh air in there. It's not super important though, as these eggs would normally incubate in 12" of forest floor, so it's not like they would naturally enjoy a gentle breeze every day. But I would freshen up the air a little, yes, and check that everything was still doing well.
