How to give a cham medicine?

My 5 month old panther from Kammerflage just tested positive for coccidia. I got the medicine from the vet, they gave me Sulfatrim, but they had no advice on how to actually give it to him. I know that I should be able to get his mouth open and squirt it in... but how in the world should I get his mouth open?

Any advice on administering meds or coccidia in general would be much appreciated.

Hold him in front of a mirror. He will see his reflection and gape thinking its another cham. Have you contacted the company you bought him from? I would think they would have a guarantee of sorts.

I also know some people have said you can tap him on the top of his snout and it will open his mouth.

Do you continue to pinch it until he open or just a quick one time pinch?

get hornworms and inject the medicine into the worm then feed it to him before the worm dies

i am giving my veiled medicine right now, and normally he gets mad at me and opens his mouth on his own, but he's smart and knows the medicine is coming.......i got some advice on here and its worked so far. use something very skinny and flat, like a guitar pick ( ive been using a folded up piece of paper, so as not to paper cut him) and gently place it between his lips at the front of his face. he should open up his mouth to try and spit it out or eat it, and thats when you can administer the medicine.

Another method is to gently rub the side of their mouth with the syringe, that generally gets them to open their mouth for me.

I've been having to administer liquid calcium into my little guy every day since he has been diagnosed with MBD. I just hold him and gently pull down on his "throat sack"(for lack of the proper word) and then my girlfriend squirts it in. This is how my vet showed be how to do it.
