How to best find them in our garden?

Hi there, we live in Hawaii and bought some jackson chameleons and set them free in our large fruit tree garden. Once in a while we find one of them. But I heard there are better ways to discover them at night. Any idea??? We know they are out there. Thanks.

I'm assuming you're on Oahu. I used to live there, so i'm familiar. while they aren't a native species, they have since established populations in the wild out there. the local trick i learned was if you go to your garden at night, use a flash light to look for them in the branches. they'll be asleep so they should be pretty bright and easier to spot. you are sure that they can't escape your garden right?
