How long??

My friend gave me a Repti Glo UVB, she had no idea how long it had been used or when she got it. Can they go bad?

I have 2 Veileds. One is about 8 months and the other is about 3-4 months.
Wow this light is definetly older than 6 months!! Yikes I better get a new one now!! My little guy isn't doing great and this must be the problem.

The reptisun 5.0 Linear fluorescent lamp is the lam recommended by most of the experienced keepers here. (10.0 if you are using the dark mesh cages)

don't buy reptiGLO, get reptiSUN 5.0 LINEAR tube for veiled.

I'm not sure what a Reptarium is but he's in an all screened cage with black screen.

reptarium:

They use plastic screen and they have zippers.


Aluminum screen cage:

They are made from aluminum screen and they don't have zippers.


I used Aluminum screen, so far i don't see the need to use 10.0.
As far as reptarium, many will recommend to use 10.0 since the plastic block some percentage of the UVB.
Be sure to raise it as high as the recommended height above the cage if you decided to use 10.0

remember to get EXACTLY the one that i show you in the picture.
Long LINEAR tube.

they have a compact one which is a big NO NO for chameleon.
No COMPACT
