How long should my female Nosy be take to lay her eggs she has been digging for a week now.

Is she being interrupted while she's diggin? You don't want to let her see you when she's digging.

She may dig several test holes before finding one that she is happy with.

She will also abandon a hole if she feels it is not secure.

If she is really picky she may not like the dirt you gave her. Some females can be picky while others are not

What are you using for your soil? and how deep is it.

If she is being picky you may want to try switching out the soil to just sand sand...or if thats what you already are using, soil sand mixture.

This seems to be the question, I am waiting for my Veiled Cham to lay a clutch of sterile eggs. She has had a egg chamber in her viv for a couple of weeks because she was showing signs of wanting to dig. She did not like the bucket of soil/sand so I replaced it yesterday with a rectangle plastic box with the same mixture. This it seems was more to her liking as she spent the entire day today digging a hole. She is now either laying or resting, she has her back end in the hole and she is just sitting still in the hole.

So I guess my next question is once she covers the hole up is that it? Can I safely remove the egg chamber or leave it for awhile longer?

Sorry for the hijack but this was such a similar subject I thought it worth commenting here.

Once she covers the hole she is done. You can take the bin out if you want. If the eggs are not fertile you can leave them or dig them out. Chams can pay every 30 to 60 days on average... Sometimes less depending on the individual female

Thanks for the info Dez, and once again I apologize for hijacking this thread.
My Cham laid her eggs through the night and covered up the eggs by this afternoon. I gave her some wax worms for the extra fat and some hornworms to slack her appetite, water and let her rest. Tomorrow I will give her as much as she wants to eat.
She laid 60 eggs!! Tiny little things smaller then a dime but taken as a mass must have filled her little body to the breaking point. I feel so proud yet sad knowing this will shorten her life if she does this every 30-60 days. I am going to do more research into environmental and dietary control of egg formation. I think there are links to a site in the health section.
