how heavy?

well she is too young still shes 8 months maybe and a couple weeks ago she was 37 grams maybe three weeks ago lol but if she is small which compared to others at this age she is small am i going to have to wait longer till she hits a certain weight or does it matter my male is 165 grams big difference he is 1 1/2 but still i cant see he being much more then half of that lol my veiles are not that different in size there is a difference but not drastic

Most people will tell you to wait till a year to breed your female.

Especially if she seems small for her age.

Sounds like you got some waiting to do... Jmo

I was curious about the same thing, thanks for asking this, so I'd love to hear some reports on other people's female's weights at around 9 months and one year or more.
We know not to breed them until at least a year and until they're of sufficient size, I think the point is that we're (or at least I am) new to the size of female panthers. They looked bigger in the pictures! Maybe they're always feisty. Lol. Just now that I have her here, i know she still has a few months to go, but she just seems small compared to her big ole boyfriend. :)
Other question is, I've heard before that some locales are just generally larger than others (I know my mitsio is quite a lot larger than my faly) so, does the locale size thing apply to the females as well?

I took my female to the vet at a year old, and the vet said that an adult female should weigh between 90-100g. He also recommended that no breeding occur until they reach the adult age (1 year) and adult weight. I also strongly recommend this! I had a friend breed his female that I gave him at about 8 months old. She died after she laid her clutch of eggs. While she appeared perfectly healthy and of a good weight, the stress of breeding was too much for her, and she died. Poor little Mirage :( So wait about a year, and weigh her in at a whopping 90-100g! Hope this helps!

P.S. just saw that you said panther female. This was info for my veiled female, but I know that the two are very similar in means of care. I always recommend to everyone, though, wait a year. That is how long it typically takes for girls to grow up :)
