We are noobies..We just got Negvar a week ago...our first Cham.
Pretty sure Negvar is a boy - see spur pics and pics of beige scaly stripe

Your Chameleon - Veiled, not sure how old.
Handling - briefly 1-2 times per day...he seems to like it though and almost looks like he is trying to get out at you...
Feeding - Gut loaded Crickets, live meal worms. Both dusted with Calcium, feeding on added dark leafy lettuce, and looks to be eating Pothos and other live plants.
Supplements - Just the calcium
Watering - misted by spray, 4-5 times a day, sonic humidifier, ice cubes dripping to water plants
Fecal Description - Dark brown...(I cleaned up before I was knew to take a close look at the pooh colors.)
History - Only had him a week, got him at a local pet store... Pretty sure he is male (See attached pics)

Cage Info: 30" X 12" X 12" Screened top
Cage Type - Glass Cage (See this link for setup - https://www.chameleonforums.com/will-negvar-okay-awhile-88931 (Have put the big Pothos in) will remove substrate soon.
Lighting - UVA+UVB lights. Night light for warmth
Temperature - Basking 86-90F Coolest side of cage in the shade of a plant 80F He sometimes sits very close to the top where the lamp is.... Then roams all over...Pretty active. I have moved the basking lamp away from the highest point in the cage.
How do you measure these temps: thermometer
Humidity - 70-90 percent. Measured by thermometer with humidity sensor.
Plants - Live plants, all screened for safety
Placement - Where is your cage located? On top of a book case in a sunny room.
At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor? 3 feet
Location - Where are you geographically located? Phoenix AZ, hot desert.

Current Problem - Not so much a problem as a question. He is green and sometimes bright green - but has this beige scale horizontal stripe. Plus you can see his ribs (which I understand may be typical for a young one).
He has a voracious appetite, and we see him drink at least once per day during misting. He will eat 10 -15 meal worms a day, crunch on veggies and hunt down a number of crickets roaming his cage as well....Are we over feeding or are they pretty self regulating?

Hi there! welcome to the forum!

He looks ok, his eyes aren't sunken in so he's hydrated plenty.

I really would recommend that you use way less mealworms, they are really more of a treat.

Also you need two types of calcium- plain every day, d3 twice a month and a multivitamin twice a month.

You don't need a night light either unless your house is very very cold. They like it cooler at night and they need total darkness to get a good sleep.

Hope this helps you :)
