Ola again, i decided to feed my cham maybe his first (idk if he is fed fruits/veggie in the store) little "salad" of spinach and little bits of strawberries today. How do i hand feed him that? It looks to me he is not used to it.
But he eats crikets out of my hand now :D
Also just a little stupid question that im just curious about, do chams shoot out there tongue to eat bits of fruits/vegetables or do they just go down and bite them?
Thx again :)

Some chameleons simply refuse to eat any veggies, both of my boys will turn their noses up to greens, red peppers, kale, you name it, won't eat it LMAO.

But honestly I wouldn't really give him that much fruit just because of the natural sugars and if any fruit is too acidic for them. You could try very thinly sliced carrot but if he refuses, I wouldn't worry to much about it as long as your feeders are well gut loaded, he'll get his nutrients that way :)

Welcome to the forums. The fruit and veggies will not stick to their tongue. You can hand feed at first and then later bowl feed in a shallow bowl. Be sure to cut fruits and veggies into small slivers so they want choke.

I shred them into fine bits that look like coleslaw and then put in a bowl with feeders. Fruits may not always stick to tongue, but veggies sure will. When cham goes for insects, some veggies will get stuck accidentally sometimes to tongue and this will get him to start to develop a taste for them. Later the cham will eat anything in the bowl even if there are no insects.

One thing I used to do but haven't done for years (too many lizards now) is get a chameleon hand feeding consistently then offer bits of carrot, etc by hand. They will shoot their tongue and take the shredded carrot just like it was a mealworm from your fingers.
