how do chams drink?

today i saw my baby veiled shooting his tongue out at some leafs and at 1st i thought he was trying to get a cricket hiding in there but after 2nd and 3rd time i started to wonder. is that how chameleon drink?

They drink in a few different ways. They lick the leaves ,branches etc that are wet in their cages. They can open up their mouths to take in water when they are misted and yes, they will shoot their tongues at droplets of water. Do you have a dripper?

yeah i have a dripper and i mist him atleast twice a day. that was just the 1st time ive ever seen him do that

well that is a good sign then that he is drinking!!!! Sometimes the little buggers are "secret drinkers" and you never know if they are getting water or not!

yeah i was worried for a while. he is just a baby and ive only had him for about 2 weeks. but its good to know that i dont have to worry aobut him not drinking

mine is a secret drinker but i have busted him fireing his tounge at droplets a few times.
