How difficult?

I have been reading mixed reviews about silkworm breeding. Some say it's very difficult, some say it's easy. I would really like to try it and I think I could even breed them in my classroom to teach the life cycle. From all that I have read it doesn't seem like it would be difficult. The chow seems like the biggest issue. I would love to year what you all think?

Hi contact mulberry farms in san Diego ,they breed them n sell them ,I m pretty sure they sell starter kits,they also sell the mulberry chow its like a paste they market.

I'm considering ordering a batch of silkworm eggs from Mulberry farms...I really wanna breed them! I have 3 jacksons and they all love them...just that it's a lot more expensive than the usual crix/mealworm feeders. Definitely worth it, but let me know if you do decide on it so you can teach me

Haha ok, teaching I can do! It cant be much harder than the zillions of monarchs and swallowtails we collect and raise (for no reason but to watch) every summer. I hope!

Breeding silkworms is as easy as feeding yourself, you just have to have to have consistency in the feeding routines.

It's pretty easy as long as you have a clean source of leaves. The chow also works too. Keeping their bin clean is most important because any bacteria will cause them to die. I have a carton of eggs in the fridge right now. I think I may hatch them out in the spring time.
