Hope and possible URI?

So Hope, my jackson rescue, has been holding her mouth open for prolonged periods of time, and I'm talking hours. Now there is no excess saliva or popping sounds... so I'm not sure if it's a URI... But I haven't changed her heat lamp at all... any suggestions? thoughts?

She could be too hot. Jacksons don't like a lot of heat. Your house might have increased in temperature a few degrees recently.

She's on a I think a sixty watt... I will try decreasing the wattage to 50 and see how she does, thanks jajeanpierre ^^ I really hope she's not got an URI

you could also try raising the light fixture higher away from the enclosure before going out and buying a new bulb

I was thinking about buying a dimmer switch for her actually, she seems far for more sensitive to the heat shifts than my panther. Which only makes sense XD

What is the temperature in the basking area?

I'm not sure, I haven't taken it recently, last time I took it, it was like 75-78 degrees. I will take it today later in the day when it gets warmer and see what it looks like.

So her basking temp is in the higher 70's close to 80's during a cooler day. Today it's pretty cool, I assume yesterday since it was so much warmer it climbed a few degrees and she wasn't used to it, but it probably wasn't a dangerous level. probably around 83-85 degrees. Though I still plan to buy a dimmer switch since she seems to prefer the cooler temps. Today her mouth is not open at all and she seems much more active, I don't know for sure if she is possibly starting a shed too, she's been eating like a pig lately so it's very possible. And it's possible with the severe mbd that she even though she yawns she has a harder time breaking the shed? right?

My girl opens her mouth like that at times, but she always goes back to normal the next day.

Well good news, I do think the day where she kept her mouth open was a shedding issue because Hope is now shedding for me for the FIRST time 8D I am so excited.
