Can anybody please tell me how to build my own misting system, I haven't a clue so any suggestions would be great.

I'm working on the same project and what I have so far is a water container (like a 5 gallon Rubbermaid tote) with a couple of small pumps. One pump will be feeding 1/4" line that will run up to a couple adjustable drip nozzles that will be set above the live plants to water them and also so my cham can get water from the leaves. The other pump will be feeding another 1/4" line that will be feeding a misting nozzle that will be centered in the top of the cage for even coverage. Each pump will be plugged in to a separate automatic timer with duration controls so that they can be set accordingly. I'm hoping to get to this part of my build by the end of this coming week so that I can get some pics and model numbers for anyone that is interested. It will require a little ingenuity but it is definitely simple enough for almost anyone to do themselves and will cost about half (or less) of what the off-the-shelf products do. Also you can check out my thread "DIY Water System ?'s" as there are a couple of guys that have also gone this route that you might be able to contact for some more info. Good luck on yours and let us know how it turns out.

the key to making a diy misting system is having a pump powerfull enough to make a mist and not just a squirt or a drip, these pumps can be pretty hard to come by

May just be cheaper to buy a mistking.

I was thinking the same thing. I like to DIY a ton of stuff but when I see a good product for a good price, it's worth the money. I know you get a feeling satisfaction and accomplishment but sometimes I like to hit the "easy" button. ;););)
