Homemade Drip question

I have had my drip set up for about a week now for my 6 month old veiled and it is making me really frustrated. I am constantly needing to adjust it, I can set it up for a perfect drip every 5 seconds, it will be fine for hours then it stops. What am I doing wrong?

I used a 1 gallon jug, a connector and attached a 1/4" hose to it, the hose has a double interlocking "U" shaped clamp that tightens with two bolts. I couldnt find any valves that would accomodate the 1/4" hose. I am looking for an easier way to adjust but cant find exactly what I need.

I have bought supplies to make Bud a bigger enclosure its just a matter of doing it. At that point I will be able to lower the jug. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Not sure where you live, but what you need is called a shut off valve. Home depot sells them. They come in bags, two to a bag. They would be where you find the 1/4in microtubing. Or here is a link...

Yep, thats what I have been looking for. 3 local hardware stores I checked at dont have anything like it. Guess a trip to a bigger store is in order. Hopefully that will solve my problem.
