Ok Hi everyone.
Im totally new this i just bought my chameleon not even two days ago from a pet shop of course.
Its female and they dont even know how old it is, all we do know FOR SURE is that its a baby.
Anyways. i was reading up on it again and it says stuff on how they can lay eggs. and all that stuff/

Now my questions,
1. what is the age it will become able tolay eggs
2. how will i know when it is going to lay eggs
Ps. i think mine has eggs but at the same time i think imoverreacting
3. My cham has been eating fairly large amounts, (about 10 crickets covered in calcium) and it was drinking water yesteday but havent seen it today..what can i do.
4. I know that a light green mean s its content and chilled. But what do the other colours mean ? like a dark green with lights stripes and brownish dots.?Lol

and i have pictures of my cham if it would help answring any thing ?

thanks.

Pictures mean alot-do you have any? We can help you with the age and coloration!
Chameleons can lay eggs as early as 4-5 months, so it is highly recommended that you put a container of playsand or other substrate that they can dig in to show you that they need to lay eggs. Most female veiled chameleons will turn dark (Blackish with yellow/orange markings)-getting gravid coloration if they are going to lay eggs, although mine never does, so that is why you leave a "digging bucket" in with them from 4 months on. They will lay eggs sometimes even without breeding them. The coloring you describe in #4 sounds like a typical stress coloraion they display when young for a variety of reasons.

K here are the pictures.

also a very quick question
I am reading that site, but i need to know this riht away.
I have aheat lamp and the compact lamp. The pet store told me that i could turn them off...
Is that fine?
i am going to go and buy the moonlight tomorrow but for now will it be ok?

She's 1 year 2 months old.
Yes, I meant terrarium photos.
No, do NOT buy any night time light sources (moonlight).
Lights should only be on for 12 hours a day. So, turn them off at night. They need sleep just like we do.
