Hey guys,
I ordered a 24 x 24 x 48 all screened cage. I have a jackson's chameleon. He's a little under a year old. Right now (Saturday), I have him in a 36 x 18 x 12 glass aquarium. I know he can't be comfortable. The new cage will be here Wednesday.
So my question...
I've seen A LOT of pictures of the tall cages with just a potted plant at the bottom.
Do I need a potted plant? Or is that just preference?
And what else could I use?

Hi! Potted plants would be good for you as they increase humidity and provide leaves for your guy to drink from. I don't know a lot about jacksons but I do know they need higher humidity than say a vieled or a panther and I also know that achieving good humidity can be difficult in a big screen cage.

You will need to add lots of foliage, vines and branches for your guy to climb on and hide in. That's a pretty bug cage for a small species so you'll want to make him feel as comfortable as possible :)

check the threads on here for pictures of enclosures. They will give you great ideas. Ideally you should have many different levels of vines and branches both horizontal and vertical for him to walk around on, and one about 8 inches down under your basking light. Glad you are getting him out of that aquarium!!
