So what is it with the garbage bin? no where to go, nothing to bother them and they feel really safe so they lay them? ill try it out!
Lily is doing pretty much the same thing - doesn't want to eat (she hasn't eaten anything for 3 days now). Googles still looks small and green (as in she hasn't got any adults colours yet). I've attached a photo of Lily's big bum that I took 2 weeks before she laid her first clutch. I didn't realise she got THAT big at the time - you don't notice them getting bigger yourself.
Ok i dont understand then, why would googlez be digging? and not eating?
I don't know - I haven't got that much experience with chameleons - I haven't had Lily for one year yet, so I am still learning too! You can't make them eat though (Lily can be very stubborn when it comes to not eating) - I've tried waxworms to tempt her but they don't get a response either. She ignores the food and climbs up my arm. I'm assuming that Lily is receptive because of her colouring and she's roaming a bit and wanting to be out to search for a mate (she did this with her first clutch too). Maybe Gogglez is becoming a 'teenager'. Lily was 6 months old when I got her so I don't have any knowledge of little ones either! Sorry I can't be of any more help. I attached that pic so you can see the body shape that they have when gravid.
She been drinking and just not eating, or both? When Fred just decided to stop eating while he was sick I had NO choice but to force feed. I also used a syringe to keep him hydrated and made him eat fruits and vegetables. If she hasn't eaten in three weeks that is bad news. I know some people are going to disagree with me but I'd start trying to get something into her.
This doesn't mean pry her mouth open. If possible handle her and if she hisses place a food item in her mouth. When i did this to fred he would chew and swallow. But I'd seriously think of taking her to the vet maybe for some vitamin injections or something, since she hasn't had anything for a while. After a week of doing this with Fred he began to eat on his own, I guess his digestive cycle kicked back into gear again.
Good luck man. I know how frustrating this can be.
It's pretty much like having two choices:
1) -maybe- dying of stress or
2) dying of starvation.
Wonderful options, right?
