Hey! Welcome to the forums.
Good to have you.
Thats a good question as it can depend on what part of the world your in, what your weather is like, and what kind of chameleon you are going to get.
Most wood enclosures Ive seen are hand built.
So, where are you(generally speaking) what kind of chameleon are you getting and are you building or buying the enclosure?;)

thanx for reply, im in uk. the viv im thinkin ov gettin is wooden hand built, the sizes are width 48cm depth 48cm height 60cm. ive been advised to get a yemen for my first one as they r the easiest for a starter.

Ok great. Most of you guys in Europe use terrarium style vivs. They seem to work better for your humidity levels. We use mostly screen in the US. They all work, you just need to have airflow. That size would be ok for a young chameleon, but you would need to go bigger eventually. I say go bigger off the bat and save the cash. 30cmx30cmx120cm is standard size over here(if im converting that right, :p 2'x2'x4') I think its hard to find vivs that large that arent wicked expensive though. (But I really am not sure on that.) Basically go as big as you can, no less than 18"x18"x36", and make sure it is ventilated more than just screen on top, so that air flows through it.
Maybe a UK member can give more helpful info though.
