Help with panther

Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - He is an ambilobe panther, 8 months old and in my care for five months now.
Handling - I handle him daily. He literally sits and waits for me then scratches the glass.
Feeding - His diet at the moment consists of crickets, locusts and mealworms. He has never been a big eater and has about 5 or 6 crickets or locusts a day with a couple of worms afterwards occasionaly. They are all gut loaded with fresh apple and prorep bug grub & gel. We are still feeding him every day although he quite often won't eat so maybe this is an indication to start feeding every other day?
Supplements - I am using Prorep Calci Dust, Zoo Med Reptivite and Nutrobal. We were told by our reptile vet to give him calcium every day, apart from D3 every Wednesday and Sunday and Reptivite on the remaining days.
Watering - I mist him twice or three times a day for about 3-4 minutes but he seems to lick the leaves at the wrong times. For example, once its all dried out! Therefore I shower him once a week and I have him trained to drink water from a bottle.
Fecal Description - His poop has always looked normal, the past week the urate has been slightly orange so I have increased his mistings and given him an extra shower which seems to have worked as they are now white. He was tested for parasites about 8 weeks ago which came back clear.
History - He hasn't had any serious problems since we've had him. He's been to the vets twice, once for an overall checkup after the first time he got his hemepenes out and the second for some stuck shed.

Cage Info:
Cage Type
- I have a glass exo terra which is 90x45x90cm.
Lighting - I have an arcadia hood with reflector and an arcadia reflector clamp lamp. Both of which are on the outside of the viv. His lights come on at 7.45 in the morning and go off at 7.45 in the evening.
Temperature - As i write this now the temperature under the basking spot is 81.5 and in the middle of the viv it is around 65. At night the temperature drops to about 65 (I am in the UK). I also have a habistat dimming stat.
Humidity - The humidity is currently 76% at the top of the viv and 80% at the bottom. This is created from his mistings and I have a fogger. I have a hygrometer at the bottom of the viv and one of the dual readers at the top that measures temp and humidity (The name escapes me).
Plants - Inside the viv there are two Ficus plants and an umbrella plant.
Placement - The cage is located in the corner of my living room. The viv is approximately 150cm off the floor. (I know i need a higher cabinet but I am really struggling to find one big and strong enough).
Location - Oxford, UK.

Current Problem - I took Mylo to the vets around two weeks ago to have some stuck shed on his casque looked at. Whilst there the vet gave him an overall check up. My main concern is that the vet feels he is underweight. I agree, from looking at other photos of Cham's around the same age, I feel mine is tiny. Mylo has never been a big eater from when we got him so i'm unsure on how to fatten him up? I've bought some silkworms but the problem with this is that once he has one, he know's i've got them and refuses to eat anything else. Which defeats the object! Also when at the vets, he stated that there was a little mucus in his mouth, I thought a little was normal? A week on from the vets visit, when handling Mylo he was making weird breathing noises, sounded like a little sneeze? Or a sharp exhale of air? I understand that this could be related to a respiratory infection so my local reptile store told me to use F10 SC disenfectant through his fogger. This is apparently a good way to clear out respiratory infections and it does seem to be helping as he very rarely makes these noises any more. I have never noticed excess mucus in his mouth. However, I was out all afternoon yesterday at a family thing and by the time I got back he was asleep. With his mouth open and his tounge partly out :( I actually thought he was dead. He wasn't but i'm really worried! He seems himself today, still active and wanting to come out and he has had something to eat. But please can someone tell me how to fatten him up, and what the results of my other concerns could be and what to do? Thank you so much!

This is the most recent photo I have to show how big he is. He does have a little shed on him here too where he was just finishing off..

Honestly, your chameleon's not looking "thin" at all. You can always see a chameleon's ribs, the hip and the tips of the vertebrae, even in an overfed chameleon. I don't know why you should get him fatty and obese, which only would worsen his health condition. 5 or 6 feeders a day is really enough, I would recommend beginning with days without food at that age and decreasing feeders towards becoming adult. Aditionally, mealworms are little fatbombs which shoudln't be fed regularly. You said your chameleon's already choosing his favorite feeders (the silkworms), then it was too much food yet, not too less. Some chameleons grow slower than others, some get real big ones and some stay smaller. Let them grow his way.

About making noises when handling: Did he just growl and hiss like an upset chameleon does or does he make those noises even throughout the day e.g. relaxing on a branch?

Thank you for your response :) We have started measuring him every two weeks to see if he is growing which was recommended by the vet also. He doesnt make the noises when relaxing, its more when he's climbing, i only hear it when he's climbing on me but if i have the doors of his viv open and the tv off so i can hear him properly he doesn't seem to do it. So is it something against me maybe? Its definately not an angry hiss though.

I agree with alex, like people, every cham is a little different.
Actually, I would think being smallish and slim would be a good thing :D

I dont know what to make of the growling sound, guess I would have to be there to hear it myself
As long as he is not hissing, puffing up and bitting, and as long as it's not a respitory problem, I would not worry

Sometimes when I have to handle Smeagol, he gives a low growling that I can feel more then hear. His mouth is closed
when he does it. I think that's exactly what it is, he is growling because he is not amused with what I am doing

your chameleon looks beautiful and not thin to me. Yes, they do have sticky saliva in their mouth(I am not sure if that is what your vet is calling mucous) but is should not be excessive. When they open their mouths sometimes you can see thin strings of it from top to bottom but it should not be thick or gooey looking. I am questioning how much your vet knows chameleons. Just because a vet may know exotics, does not know they know chameleons per say. Closing of eyes during the day is not a good sign and I would keep an eye on that if he continues to do so. As far as the respiratory infection, antiobiotics are subscribed over here for that when diagnosed with one. If your chameleon continues to open his mouth he is probably having trouble breathing which could indicate an RI. And as far as silks, they are probably the least or if not one of the least non fatty worms available for feeders. If your chameleon ever needs to put on weight(which he does not at this point) then silks would not be the choice of food for weight gain.

To me, that humidity seems very high especially with a glass terrarium which tends to limit airflow- I would recommend lowering it a bit till all signs of a RI are gone.
