Help Tail bleeding

I have a female chameleon who I got form the pet store about a month ago had been really healthy so far. I cam in to feed her today in her reptibreeze tank and the last half inch of her tail is mangled and appears to had been bleeding. She ate a cricket normally and nothing had been in the cage prior, because I know crickets can bite. She appears to be okay and it has stopped bleeding is there anything I can do or will it fall off on it's own?

Are the vertebrae visible in her tail bone? She will not grow it back if it does fall off, but if the vertebrae are visible then you might need to get her checked out by a vet... Better yet do you have any pictures you can upload? She may or may not need vet attention anyway. She doesn't need a bone infection, or anything else.... She may have fallen and hurt herself that way.

Can't upload picture but it is the very tip of her tail and the blood has clotted and stopped bleeding. She wasn't hostile or angry when I handled her and tried to take a closer look at her.

Then it's up to you really whether you think she needs a vet, if it's just the very tip of her tail and bleeding is under control I would just dab some anti-bacterial cream (like neosporin) with no anti-itch or pain relieving additive. And keep on the look out for infection, reddening of the skin and an unpleasant smell, pus, the usual signs. If that happens you need to take her to the vet.
