Dont freak out! he will be fine. they can go a few days if need be but its not suggested. i would get one tomorrow if you can manage. but some people never give them the light.

without the light for a long span of time they will develop many problems but a few days wont kill your cham

what do you mean some people never give them light? Because they don't know any better??

he will be okay just get on in the next couple days, might be hard cuz its sunday not all stores are open.. but the sooner the better i think

apparently mine went a full year without a uvb light with her previous owner and shes perfect.. of course i have one for her now

i was stating that people that dont know about there pets or just dont care dont always provide lights.

i state this because i rescued a cham and that is how he was cared for. he is about a year and a half old. please refrain from freaking out. if you notice i told him to get a light.

All you need is a clamp light from Home Depot and a 40 or 60 Watt light bulb. No special anything is required for a basking light.

BocaJan makes a good point. if its just a basking spot and not one of the uva/uvb lights you dont need anything special it just needs to be a heat light.

nice catch BocaJan :D

uh, excuse me but my post was FAR from freaking out. You made a statement that did not make any sense. You stated that some people never use lights like it was ok. Go back and read what you said. Clarify yourself better and people will not second guess what you say.

Yeah if it's just the basking bulb and not his UVB bulb just go to the store tomorrow and get a nice 4 pack of regular yellow house bulbs for a buck. Whichever wattage you need, I use a 75 watt for my male panther but he can bask a few inches be,ow it, it the basking spot is far from the light you may need a 100 watt if a male veiled or panther but anything else could use a 75 or 60 watt. Just check your temps.

Thanks guys this really calmed me down. I decided since I live in Arkansas to go outside and soak up the heat for a little bit he gets his light back at 10:00 Am Monday!
