Help! Outside stress.

I wanted to make a large outdoor cage for the chameleons, separate of course, but I don't know if it would be beneficial to my dear Reno. I've taken him out twice, and so far no improvements. Each time I have gone out he turns dark brown, sucks everything in and flats out, and then lays on his side. He almost looks like he just instantly dies in my hand! I've checked for anything that might be stressful. No birds flying around, dogs are up, no other people around. He just doesn't like it. What can I do.? If I make him an outside cage will it even be worth it sense he is obviously stressed.?

mabey not stress. mine do the same. they turn dark and lay flat to soak up as much sun as possible.

You aren't leaving him ouyside long enough. After they bask they wwill return to normall andd explore the new cage. Mine acctually show some of their best color outside

yeah mine used to turn really dark and pace all over the cage bottom when i put him outside.
Had to leave him out there for several prolonged periods before he really got used to it .. but he loves it now.. and tries to bite the crap outa me when i go to bring him in lol
and that natural light is just sooo good for them

He’s just doing his satellite dish impression; you should see if you get better reception on your TV or the pay channels for free when he’s outside.
