Hi all,

I'm new here, please don't hesitate to guide or advise me.

I am in the montane (1 000m) forest of Sumatra and saw a Cham in the wild.
Can anyone tell me can tell me wich specie it could be?

Thanks a lot.

oups...
Strange, it seemed to us that it changed colors.
Can you have a look at this pic and tell us what you might think it is?
Thanks in advance.

definatly not a true chameleon.

he doesn't have the right type of feet, a prehensile tail and eye turrets that can rotate his eyes 360 degrees.

a very intresting lizard though to say the least.

Thanks a lot for these fast answers!

It change color in front of us, from green to this color, you can see that the feet are still green, it is possible for lizards?

no, it is not common for all lizards to change colors so rapidly.

green anoles have been known to change to a variety of colors to mach their backgrounds.

chameleons change depending on mood, and its almost instant.

that little guy is probably part of the anole family. he does share some base traits.

Chris is right...as usual :)
Its not G. liogaster because they have blue eyes and its not doriae...but that leaves a LOT of others. Sumatran gonocephalus are usually browns.

Beautiful lizard though! Glad you posted the photo! I have always been fascinated with this family of lizards.
