Hello,
after much research and browsing of this forum, I have obtained my first fascinating chameleon. Not proud to say I got him/her from Petsmart but wasnt confident enough to take on a young baby, so happened upon this friendly little guy. Was told by one associate that it was a female less than a year old, told by another it was a male not even 6 months old. This associate was certain it was a male form the size its casque, and that they received on in Mid Feb.
I'm assuming he should have been 3 mo old when he went to store, and was there 2 mo before I bought him - so I'm guessing around or less than 6 months
He measures 9 inches from tip of head to end of tail, 5.5 inches is the body length.
He just had a full molting.
Is eating 10-15 criks per day (with the Calcium supplement (w/o D3 and gut loaded) Actively hunts and cup feeds.
I've had him 3 days - no poop or urate since in my custody - Ive scoured the terrarium - found no sign of it.
I'd like to really know if its a male or not - bought him under the premise he was as I didnt want to deal with eggs etc...
If female, is it true that by managing a lower temperature (low 80's) I can keep her from having eggs??
I see no tarsel spur - have I been duped by the unknowing pet store associate?
Looking forward to your comments, this is a fascinating hobby, I've so much from the many forum contributions I've read.
